Tashiky Sushi Restaurant (Restaurant closed, catering now offered)

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Tash herself to the official Tashiky Sushi restaurant opening. This evening would include starters, sushi buffet, dessert and live music.

Sushi Buffet

We were greeted by the door and taken to our table for the evening. It was a little corner table away from the stage but the lighting was good and I sure do prefer the privacy. I was a little confused by how the evening would run, but this was due to missing the announcement ten minutes earlier (my bad). Our drinks order was taken right away by the friendly barman, setting the stage for the service we received throughout the evening.

The sushi platters started arriving and I was a little concerned as to how it would feed a restaurant full of hungry guests waiting to pile their plates, me included. I was unable to capture a picture of the spread as people started lining up almost instantly.

Oh no I thought, those dreaded lines you usually get at a Sunday roast buffet. I must say, I was very impressed by how quickly it went and before I knew it, it was my turn.

People piled their plates, some even came back for seconds, yet there was still some left over by the time dessert arrived. I was full, let me rephrase, stuffed!

The live music filled the air, creating a lovely ambiance, staff did their rounds checking up on guests and I enjoyed chatting away to my husband while we let our food settle.

Live Music

Once we plucked up some strength we headed to the dessert table. There were three different cakes on display: chocolate cake, red velvet and the Picasso. I opted for the Picasso and my hubby the chocolate. The Picasso was smooth and tasty, the chocolate was good although not the highlight. We were there for the sushi after all.

Delicious Picasso Dessert Chocolate Cake

Overall, we had a wonderful evening. The sushi was top class, fresh and made with great love and care. You can really taste how fresh all the ingredients were and I would certainly recommend you give this restaurant a visit. Sushi was 10/10. They also do private functions, which are ideal if you are wanting to impress your guests with minimal fuss.

NOTE: Although I was an invited guest, the review is honest and completely my own opinion.
